Scottish Gold for Manning and O’Shea

A group of four Kilkenny City Harriers athletes travelled to Glasgow to compete in the Scottish Indoors at Kelvin Hall last weekend. All four performed well.

Laura Langton (60m hurdles) and David McGeary (Long Jump) competed at under 20 level. Laura was 3rd in her heat in 9.62 seconds and David jumped 5.99m to finish sixth.

Both Cliodhna Manning and Lorraine O’Shea, competing in the under 17 age competition, had personal best performances. Cliodhna having won her heat and semi-final went on to win the gold in the 60m final in 7.76 seconds. Lorraine also won her heat and semi-final and lined up against Cliodhna in the final. Clocking 7.89 seconds brought her the bronze making it a first and third for the KCH girls.

Lorraine had another great win in the Long Jump with a personal best jump of 5.58 meters. Congratulations to all four athletes.
