Tommy Evans 11th in Great Ireland Run

Tommy Evans, Gowran AC, finished in 11th position in the Great Ireland run today (april 10th 2011) in the Phoenix Park. Tommy’s gun to tape time was an excellent 31.17. As there was a high quality international field this was an eccellent performance by the Gowran AC man.
The event also included the AAI National  10k road championships and Tommy was  4th AAI Athlete overall about 30 secs off 3rd place.

David McPherson KCH ran an excellent race 33.19 finishing in 34th positio. Simon Dwyer 35.51and Lyndon Barcoe 39.09 both of Gowran AC  also put in strong performances.

In the womens race Miriam Dillon of Castlecomer AC ran very wellto finish in a time of 46.47. Irene Henebry KCH completed the race in 46 minutes 57 seconds. Karen Nugent was comfortable finishing in 52.37.
