St Senans Track and Field a Great Success

St Senans held their annual track and field day on Easter Monday in the Sports Complex Kilmacow. Hundreds of athletes took part in over sixty track and field events in perfect weather with the grass track in excellent condition. The Sports Complex was packed to capacity with athletes and their families.

This was the first day of the outdoor track and field season for the clubs and athletes travelled from far and wide. The local Kilkenny clubs were well represented and also their were clubs from Waterford: Waterford AC, Stella Maris Tramore, West Waterford AC, Lismore, An Gaelteacht, from Tippereary came Carrick on Suir, Clommel, Moycarkey.Athletes travelled from Liscarroll Co Cork, Kildare North Laois and all of this made for a high standard of competition.

The whole day ran like clockwork and great credit is due to Bill Lacey and the organising committee from St Senans AC.

There were some great individual performances on the day and St Josephs AC were the winners of the overall Shield for the best club.
