Co Road Walks Friday 15th July: Results

The County Road Walk Championships were held at Pink Rock on Friday Night. Despite the low turnout there were some great performances with high levels of performance shown by all the athletes.

There was a great juvenile squad from St Senans and St Josephs were dominant in the Senior Races.

In the mens race larry Lacey, St Josephs, opened a gap early on and continued to extend this gap during the race. The big battle was between the silver and bronze medal winners. Early on in the race John lennon Gowran AC opened a lead on John Joe Lawler and Rocky Mernagh who were working together. As the race went on John Joe pulled away from Rocky and gradually pulled back John Lennons lead eventually passing him and holding off a late challenge to take the silver medal

U14 Boys 2000m Walk: 1st Jonathon Crowley St Senans

U 18 Girls 4000m Walk: 1st Orla Butler St Senans

Senior Women 3000m Walk: 1st Maggie Helen O Connor St Josephs, 2nd Tracey Malone St Josephs

Senior Men 5000m Walk: 1st Larry Lacey St Josephs, 2nd John Joe Lawler St Josephs, 3rd John Lennon Gowran AC, 4th Rocy Mernagh St Josephs
