Misfortune for Joanne in the semi-final

Unfortunate news from Daegu, Joanne Cuddihy was disqualified for a false start and so bows out of the world 400m championships.

Joanne will be part of the 4x400m relay and  her own words on twitter today:

I can’t say how lucky I feel to have such fantastic support from so many and I am sorry to have let everyone down tonight. never again.

However Joanne will be able to look back on a seasons best run in the first round and what more can an athlete do than to qualify for a major championships and then produce a seasons best run in the competition.
