Paul Deegan, Gowran,wins O45 Cross Country, St Josephs win team gold

Paul Deegan, Gowran AC was a clear winner in the masters mens 3k Cross Country in Castlecomer on Sunday. The race was held on a flat fast course in perfect autumnal sunshine with a slight breeze. Paul pulled away early on from the leading group which included Colm Murray, KCH, and St Josephs athletes Michael and Seamus Power, Jack Duggan and Rocky Mernagh. From that group Colm Murray, KCH, took silver and Michael Power St Josephs was the bronze medal winner.

St Josephs won team gold for the second week in a row and this time the scorers were Michael Power (3), Jack Duggan (4) and Rocky Mernagh (5). Gowran won team silver with Muiris Bric (6) and Mick Walsh (9) completing the team. KCH were third with Colm Murray (2), Conor MacGabhann (8) and Willie McTiernan (15).
