A sizable Kilkenny contingent attended the Leinster Athletics Star Awards at The Seven Oaks Hotel in Carlow on Saturday night. They were there to celebrate with the Kilkenny recipients of Star Awards for 2011.
Eoin Muldowney from Castlecomer AC received the Senior Award.
Juvenile awards were presented to Jack Saunders, St Joseph’s AC and Catriona Twomey, Kilkenny City Harriers (KCH).
Cliodhna Manning, KCH, accepted the Hehir Shield on behalf of the club. This shield, which is awarded to the winner of the Relay Campionships, has been retained by the city club for the fourth successive year.
Sean Lynch, long serving member of KCH, was honoured with the Outstanding Service Award.
