Gowran AC/Ossory Youth 5K Run

A Great occasion in the Castle Park, Kilkenny this morning as well over 200 participants lined up for the start of the Gowran AC/ Ossory Youth 5K event.

The partnership of Gowran AC and Ossory Youth proved to be a great success and all grades and ages took part in the event and the weather failed to dampen the spirits and the wonderful atmosphere that prevailed at the event. The organisers were particularly delighted with the big turnout and the signs are that there is a huge interest in this type of participation focused sporting event.

This was the third race in the series and those who participated in all three events received a commemorative tee shirt.

Results Overall for the three event Series:

Men:  1 Cormac Buggy, 2 Colin Tobin, 3 Ted Drea 4 Finn Connolly

Women: 1 Martina Brennan, 2 Angela Gordon,  3 Karen Gilsenan 4th Avril Ryan 5th Emer Doheny
