Rockford 4 miles Road Race Sat Aug 25^th

Brian Maher, KCH, was the first Kilkenny athlete home in the recent Rockford Tiles 4 mile Road race in Tinryland. Brians time of 19.44 meant he finished in 4^th place in a top class field with the first 4 athletes finishing in under 20 mins. Simon O Dwyer, Gowran AC finished in third place in the M40 section with a time of 22.49. Lyndon Barcoe, Gowran AC was 44^th. Roger Middleton, Gowran 52^nd. David Farrell, M50 finished in 57^th place with a time of 25.32. Gowran Junior Gerry Walsh had a good time of 26.03 with fellow Junior Sean Scott finishing in 28.21.Marty Kelly in the M55 section ran 28.31 with Denis Cormack finishing in just over 30 mins. Around 250 athletes crossed the finish line in a race that has maintained its high standard this year being the 33^rd running of the race.
