Stook 10 mile Challenge Nov 18th 2012

The Stook Ten Mile Road Race, a new event on the race calendar, will be held on 18th November 2012. Gowran AC will host the event.

Set over an challenging but enjoyable 10-mile route, the Stook Ten is the end-of-year road race challenge you’ve been waiting for. Offering a chance to experience some of Kilkenny’s most beautiful scenery, the Stook Ten winds across gentle valleys and up country roads before emerging at the crest of Stook Hill. With stunning views down to the finish, every participant will be rewarded with a super fast 2.5 miles of continuous downhill to the finish line in Dungarvan village.

Gowran AC aim to offer a friendly and enjoyable experience to runners of all abilities, and every participant will get to enjoy our club hospitality. In addition to the accurate course (jone counter measured), chip timing, online results and water stations you’d expect from a club organised race – there will be individual, category and team prizes on offer. Entry fee is €20.00

The race starts from Dungarvan Church, 3 miles south of Gowran village. There will be changing facilities, refreshments, sandwiches and cake for all in the parish hall afterwards!
