Leinster Junior and u/23 Track and Field

The  Leinster Junior and u/23 Track and Field Championships were held in Scanlon Park Kilkenny on Sunday 29th  May. A good representation of athletes from Kilkenny Clubs competed with considerable success .  Sophie Parkinson Gowran  AC was a double winner in the shot (10.50) and Discus (40.62). Sophie’s throw in the Discus was just 38cm outside qualification for the youth Olympics.

Eoin Muldowney, Castlecomer AC had a brilliant double in the 100m and 200m in the under 23 competition. Sile Carroll, Castlecomer AC won the womens u/23 800m.

Emma  Fenlon St Josephs won three medals in the field events: a silver in the Shot and bronze in the discus and javelin.

In the 4x100m relay KCH women and St Josephs men were winners.

KCH junior men’s team were winners of the 4x400m with St Josephs getting the silver.
