Leinster Senior and Masters Track and Field Sunday 5th June 2011

Tullamore again wwas the veunue for the Leinster Senior and masters Track and Field and indeed some of the competitors from the schools compettition on Saturday were back again on Sunday to compete in the provincial championships at senior level.

Sophie Parkinson,Gowran AC, was again a double medal winner in the shot and discus. Emma Fenlon, ST Josephs, having won bronze for Rosbercon on Saturday competed in 4 events and was a double medal winner in the shot and hammer

Dean Brennan KCH won gold in the Long Jump and Austin Lee, St Josephs won silver in the hurdles triple jump and Pole Vault.

Gowran AC athletes did exceptionally well in the Masters events with their athletes picking up medals in a wide spread of age categories from O/35 to O/65. Brow Rangers also did well and had two double medal winners in Joe, hammer and shot, and Murty Kelly, hammer and discus, in their respective age groups.

Seniors

Eoin Muldowney, Castlecomer AC, was winner of the 200m and reached the final of the 100m.

Sophie Parkinson, Gowran AC, was winner of the discus and second in the Shot.

Mary Ellen Doyle, Gowran AC,  was third in the 1500m
