2019 National Seniors

Well done to Eoin Everard (KCH) and Sophie Becker (St Josephs) on both taking silver medals today in the National Senior Indoors.
Sophie ran in the 400m where the pre race favourite was Phil Healy of Bandon. Phil clocked 52 seconds to win with Sophie closing in on her in the last 60m to finish 2nd in 53 seconds. Sophie has already qualified for the European Indoors to be held in Glasgow in two weeks time.
In the men’s 1500m Eoin Everard finished 2nd in a time of 3.55. The winner was Eoin Pearse of Clonliffe. It was by all accounts a very close race – even with 60m to go – the eventual outcome was not clear cut. Thankfully Eoin held on to 2nd place and in doing so had a very creditable performance indeed.
