2019 Leinster 10 miles Championships

James Kelly of Castlecomer is a familiar name to us all by now. At the Battle of Clontarf he fought his own running battle and emerged as the 5th athlete home in a useful time of 56 min and 25 seconds. Casting aside the suit of armour, spear, shovel and horse on this occassion, the athletes battled it out man for man on a great circuit. james was accompanyed by Pat Purcell of KCH who was 21st in a time of 61.17. Maria Griffin of St Josephs AC was Kilkennys first female home. Maria was 11th female overall in a time of 71 minutes. She was also the 4th over 45 athlete home.
