2020 Credit Union Awards

Athletics Awards

It is indeed award season. The Leinster Awards paved the way, with more ceremonies coming up in the next few weeks. The Kilkenny County Board Athletics awards will be held at Langton’s set theatre on Friday next 28th February at 8pm. This event honours all our athletes and their magnificent endeavours throughout 2019. Following from that there will be the National Athletics Awards of which some Kilkenny Athletes will also be present.

But before those there was another award ceremony that involved some of the athletes based in the south of the county. The Waterford credit union annual awards took place on Friday last with all the monthly award winners present. With the credit union area spilling into the Piltown Electoral district this means St Senans AC is entitled to participate in them. The club had three monthly award winners in 2019, Tadgh Connolly (Jan), David Williams (Nov) and Tara Ramsawmy (Dec). At Friday’s event the Supreme athlete of the year was announced. Tadgh Connolly (St Senans) AC beat 11 other highly acclaimed athletes to win the title. 2019 was a magnificent year for Tadgh. A year where he represented Ireland in the Celtic Cross Country, won 5 National Titles ranging from Cross Country (Schools), 800m, 1500m and Discus. He also won 1 silver medal, two bronze as well as being 4th in the u16 Cross Country. No athlete could match the amount of titles nor the range of events in which his medal winning haul covered.
