2021 Leinster Unevens and Seniors Xcountry

In the beautiful demesne of Avondale, where Charles Parnell once lived and championed the cause for Home Rule, Kilkenny produced three champions of their own. Ruth Kennedy (Gowran) has been having a great season and produced her first Leinster title when she claimed victory in the ladies u23, 5000m. Charlotte Carpendale (St Senans) produced a clever strategic run to take the girls u15 title. In the boys u11 young Aaron Carrigan (Gowran) held off the challenge of Darragh O’Callaghan and Daire O’Flaherty of Kilkenny City Harriers to take a victory of his own.

In total Kilkenny have 15 juveniles on the Leinster team for the All Ireland’s to be held in Gowran on December 5^th. 5 from St Senans 5 from Gowran, 2 from KCH and 3 from Thomastown. A total of 7 county teams have qualified ensuring more athletes from various clubs have earned their qualification. On top of this 5 club teams have qualified. In total there will be 66 juveniles from the county racing at the Nationals on December 5^th, giving audiences plenty of local interest to follow.
