James Lawlor memorial 10k

St Josephs AC held the 31st running of the James Lawlor Memorial Race on Friday the 26th of April on what turned out to be a lovely sunny evening 40 runners took on the 5k course. The   first lady home was Helen Mc Donald.  Helen was also finished first person over al in the handicap race, l second lady was Jean Mc Namara and in third was Mary Mc Donald.

First man home was Kieran Cullen second man was John Joe Lawlor and third place went to Joey Duggan,   the fastest man to cover the 5k was Patrick Bookle in 19min17sec and fastest lady was Sally Forristal in 22min22sec well done to all who competed on the night the club would like to thank the Lawlor family for their kind sponsorship of the prizes and Trudie and Micheal Power for the refreshments.

Friday also marked the official launch of this year’s Pink Rock 10k which will take place on the 23rd of June. The race is open to all levels of runners and walkers the online entry fee is 15 euro at   www.runireland.com or 20 euro on the day. There are   top cash prizes on offer and free draw for a stove worth 400 euro to everyone who enters the race.

The club holds adult and juvenile training every tuesday and thursday night at 7pm at the Rosbercon  parish sports grounds.

Fit 4 life training also takes place every Monday and Wednesday at 7.15pm at the Pink Rock.
