2018 World Juniors

Kilkenny interest in the world juniors in Finland lay with Ciara Deely. Ciara finished 6th in the heat of the 400m in 54.69, completely justifying her selection, when she was yet again inside of the World qualifying standard. It was Ciara’s 3rd best time this season. Unfortunately it was not fast enough to make the semi final, but Ciara can be well proud of her achievements. Ciara is coached by Nicola Barron and both athlete and coach have had a tremendous year. One should remember if you take away the two relay teams,there were only 6 other Irish athletes who qualified for these Worlds. So that puts the significance of her qualification achievement in full perspective.
