2018 All Ireland B Track & Field

With athletes across all Kilkenny Clubs now preparing for the Juvenile All Ireland Championships, those athletes not securing a place but who did well in the Leinster championships had another chance to test their skills at the B All Irelands in Tullamore at the weekend.

This fixture has for the last number of years proved extremely instrumental for young athlete development, giving kids the confidence to enter a national event at a more comfortable competitive level.

In total 9 gold medals were won by Kilkenny clubs with Louis Raggett (KCH) achieving a new championship best in the boys u/12 High Jump.

Gold medals for Eoin Aylward and Ethan Butler of St Senans AC. With Juliet Evans finishing a close 4th in the u/13 80m. Eoin achieved a new personal best in the u/13 Long jump, avenging his 8th place in the Leinsters.
Also to get a PB was Anna Brennan of Gowran AC, whose new distance of 9.15m in the girls u/13 shot would have gained her 3rd place in her official Leinsters. Also to get a gold medal for Gowran was David Byrne in the u/16 High Jump. David also got a silver in the shot. Maria Connelly was 3rd in the u/14 High Jump.
Eli Dunne of Brow Rangers was just 1cm off 3rd place in the boys u/12 shot. But a PB in 4th place is an excellent result.
