National B, Intermediate and Master Cross Country Championships

Another cross country race got underway in Abbottstown on Sunday under dry sunny conditions but unfortunately the bad weather from the last few weeks had left its mark before the races even started, and due to poor conditions, the course distances were altered leading up to the day with the races now over a 1000m loop of the course instead. In the juvenile races there were great individual and team performances with Kate Kelly Kilkenny City Harriers winning silver in the Girls U13, Sam Woodcock Kilkenny City Harriers winning bronze (4th) in the Boys U15, and Cian Shortall Gowran also winning bronze (12th) in the Boys U13 race. Kilkenny City Harriers U13 girls won 1st in the team event too. The Master Women Anne Watkins St. Joseph’s was 59th overall, Mick Redmond Thomastown was 38th in the O65+.
