National Juvenile and Relays

The final day of the National Juvenile Championship got under way in Athlone, with the Even Age and Uneven Age relays, and the last of the older juvenile field events. In the relays Kilkenny City Harriers had 8 teams entered, the U16 and U17 Girls, and U13, U14, U15, U16, U17 and U18 Boys. There were juveniles from Brow Rangers, Gowran, Kilkenny City Harriers and St. Senan’s competing in 1500m, Shot Put, High Jump, and Triple Jump. The Girls U16 team are no strangers to the relay podium, having medalled on numerous occasions in previous years, they all ran their 200m legs in superb time to claim the top spot and gold medal. The Boys U17 and U18 had great success too, with both teams claiming silver in 2^nd place in their timed heats.

Boys U18 2^nd Charlie Lyons, Victor Lamph, Eoghan O’Farrell, Patrick Wall

In the older juvenile events Clodagh O’Callaghan Kilkenny City Harriers finished off a great indoors season with another National medal in the 1500m. James Kelsey Gowran also made the podium in the Boys U19 High Jump to claim 3^rd for bronze.
