National B’s and Relays

National Relays and B Championships

Day 4 of the National Championships on Sunday in Tullamore produced 3 medals for Kilkenny City Harriers in the relays, gold for the Girls U16, silver for the Girls U17 and bronze for the Girls U14. Kilkenny City Harriers also had two Boys teams U13 finished 7^th in Heat 3, while the U14 Boys finished 6^th in their heat. There were 5 medals in total won at the National B’s held in conjunction with the relays, so an extremely busy for those competing in relay and B’s. The B’s are a great event for anyone who competed at Leinster but didn’t qualify for the All-Ireland’s to have another day on the track, with two entries per athlete, choosing between sprint, middle distance, long jump and shot put. Gowran, Nuenna and Kilkenny City Harriers had athletes competing throughout the day. Zachery Marc KCH won gold in the Boys U13 Long Jump with jump of 4.38m. Nicky Cleere KCH won bronze in the Boys U14 80m sprint in a time of 11:05. Sam Woodcock KCH was second in the Boys U15 800m, claiming silver in 2:14:60. Amelia O’Brien and Katie Byrne were both running in the Girls U16 800m for KCH, with Amelia winning the race in 2:23:79 and Katie finishing in 3^rd in 2:26:18.
