On a blustery Sunday in Kilmacow, the rain held off for the Little South Run organised by St Senan’s AC. Over 300 runners and walkers went in this very successful event over 6 kilometres which includes the County Novice Road Race Championships. While the numbers were low in the County Championships, there were high quality performances by our county novice (and senior) athletes.
The men’s Novice Road Race was won by James Kelly of Castlecomer who came home fourth in the overall race won by Sergiu Ciobanu.
The women’s Novice Road Race was won by Anne Watkins of St Joseph’s who followed home an all-Kilkenny 1-2-3 in the Little South Run of Sally Forristal (St Jospehs), Sharon Cleere (Gowran) and Elaine O’Donovan (St Josephs). The St Josephs team took the gold and silver medals.
