Double Masters Victory for St Senans

Another action packed day for Kilkenny athletes with three seasons meshing into one. With Indoors, Track and Field and Cross Country all converging, there is always going to be something to keep the athlete busy.
A fine double for St Senans AC in the masters races, with the ever youthful 51 year old supremo Sean Caulfield taking no prisoners in his wake as he powered to victory in the mens over 35, while Adele Walsh despite steering slightly off course – won the ladies race. The junior race was won by Ruth Kennedy with Sophie Jackman of St Senans 2nd and Ciara O’Keeffe Thomastown 3rd.
Plenty of action in the Juvenile races too. Fiona Dillon (Thomastown) winning the u/16 girls from team mate Aine Kirwan, Tadgh Connolly (St Senans) the boys u/16. The rain lashed down on them, making it a great dash in the splash for them.
The u/14 boys was another victory for St Senans with Naoise Gilmatin 1st and Ben Wallis 2nd. The girls u/14 was all for Gowran with Sara Kehoe taking an easy victory. Jos O’Connor of St Josephs won the boys u/12 from Issac Carew of St Senans – with Charlotte Carpendale of St Senans never looking in danger of being beaten in the girls u/12.  Grace Gilmartin (St Senans) won the girls u/10 with KCH taking the boys u/10.
