2019 County Novice/B Juvenile Kilmacow

Oliver Mullally (St Senans) and Ellen Ryan (Thomastown) are the 2019 County Novice Champions.
Ellen led clubmate Sinead O’Keeffe from the start and never looked in danger of being beaten. Long time men’s leader James Kearney (KCH) was joined by St Senans Oliver Mullally with 500m to go. Despite an intense sprinting battle down the home straight, Oliver dug deep and managed to secure a marginal victory over Kearney, winning his first county title.

KCH win the 2019 overall Senior Cross Country shield with 4 points to spare over Gowran.

Numbers are up, athletes are enthusiastic and the world of athletics has never looked better in Kilkenny. Ring the bells of motivation, enthusiasm and all things good. With 2019 being a great season, 2020 looks to be even better. There was nothing but happy faces all around in Kilmacow as the juveniles enjoyed their races and the banter and craic associated with competition. Rumour has it that Santa Clause has the elves busy making spikes, with a massive drop of them due to land in county Kilkenny this year. Just make sure you get 5mm for the County Indoors, scheduled for Jan 4th.
